Stripey

I’m Stripey!  I live at the Sanctuary with my Brother and Sisters along with all my friends from other Mothers! 

I was born outside near a very busy road but my clever Mummy found a garden of a cat friendly house to shelter us in. Sadly when we were 8 weeks old she then left us there but not before knowing we were being fed and socialised by the nice people who owned the garden.

When we were caught we all went to live in a foster home for a while. It was great there, we lived with other cats and a lovely little human that played with us lots. We had dogs visit too and that was good fun! We really liked our temporary mummy and would follow her about and lounge around on the furniture.

We came to live at the sanctuary when we were about 5 months old. I’m 18 months old now and the Sanctuary is great but I would really like a family of my own again. Our sanctuary Mum says she really doesn’t know why we’ve not been adopted. Maybe because I can be a bit shy with strangers, I’m a cat after all!  That’s not who I really am though. I’m very confident and playful and I’m told I’m in to everything (the humans do need close supervision of tasks to ensure they are being carried out properly!).  I love cuddles and I love toys. I love my home comforts and I’m a real big family cat. I love my Brother Sooty very much and I’m always with him and my other pal Huxley so I’d like to be adopted with one of them.  I might be OK going on my own I suppose to the right family but you’d have to be patient with me at first as this would be very scary for me. I absolutely must have another cat or dog in the house though. I really don’t want to be the only animal.

I like children especially older ones as they are pretty interesting, I enjoy hanging out with them but I’d be just as happy with grown ups! Dogs are fun but said dog would need to have lived with cats before because I don’t fancy showing a dog the ropes and explaining that cats rule.

Here’s an important part though. I’m a big cat so I do need space, especially as I really want to be with Sooty or my Brother from another Mother Huxley.  I want to be safe too. So I really would like an Indoor Only Home as that’s all I’ve known. If you have a catio or cat proofed garden that might be fun. I might be OK having access to the outdoors but it must be in the countryside in a quiet location away from any main or busy roads like the one I was born next to. No thank you to that I don’t want to live that life again.

I have been neutered and microchipped. I’m up to date with my vaccinations and I’m super easy to give flea and worming treatments to.

I’m just a big cuddle bug of family cat!! I will need a bit of patience though while I settle in to a new home as I’ve only ever lived indoors at the Sanctuary and I trust the humans that love and look after me. I’m definitely worth it though.
